Per the suggestion of Jackelope, I need to do something about this. On the one hand, I willfully let my membership lapse, as I didn’t think I’d feel the need to post again and didn’t from sometime in september or october of 2003 until this evening. But still, Ed said that repeat guests will be banned and I don’t want that to happen to me.
If I were to pay the subscription fee under the name Khan (even if CM401k still exists, I’d like to keep Khan), would that leave everything squared away?
You’ll need to email to TubaDiva to settle up. We really don’t want people to have multiple screen names. I’m sure she will be happy to let you pick whichever of the two names you want to keep, and pay up, and she’ll disable the other name.
For others reading: please, if you’re in that situation, email an Administrator and we can set up your old name. The names don’t go bad, just because you didn’t pay; they’ll stick around for as far as we can foresee, in case you change your mind. Do NOT re-register, that just blocks up another name and causes needless additional administration fussing around.

Khan appeared to me to be rather straight forward and honest in his/her attempt to do the right thing.
I never, ever list my address in its true form. I get quite enough spam as it is, I’m not going to put my address out in a way that spiders and bots will recognize it as an email address. A real person can easily tell that I’ve switched the period and the at signs, and switch them back easily enough. As for putting SDMB in the subject field, right now I have almost a thousand unread email messages from the past month. Most of these are from various lists that I belong to, and I search for SDMB in the subject fields each day and don’t worry about reading most of the list letters promptly.
I paid and emailed Lynn and TubaDiva. I asked to have both names merged into Khan, since I’ve been using that name for nearly five years now anyway.
So it looks like I’m back.
