Well, I -do- live in Colorado Springs, home of great natural beauty, mired by excessive quasi-Christian Faith, mass shooters, and traditionally conservative military voters.
So I’d guess I see at least one of the TrumpTruckFlags at least every other day.
Looks like I should be thankful that in my state we have appointed judges and no judicial elections. I’ve met a number of judges over the years and for the most part I’ve been fine with them.
It’s a very simple ballot this time around which is rare for a presidential year. Not one ballot initiative.
I discussed it with my wife and we decided to be traditional and vote in person on Election Day. We both have flexible schedules and live in a semi-rural area. I don’t expect long lines when we go. Early voting here doesn’t start until tomorrow.
That’s behind their paywall. I would suspect it to be on the Trump side in my zip code.
I signed up with ballot trax after I got home yesterday, and my ballot confirmation was texted to me about 6:00 pm last night. Around 9:00 this morning I got my accepted and counted text. Yippee!
My North Carolina zip code showed exactly 1000 Harris donors for a total of 100K and 231 Trump donors for a total of 40K.
I was glad to see numbers like that, even though I live in a blue city I was pleasantly surprised that Harris donors outnumbered Trump donors more than 4 to 1.
Thank you~I’m one of those older women (manning? Really? How about staffing the check in and check out tables?). I try to be cheerful. I even bring a bag of Snickers to give out to first time voters
It’s a long day-7am to 9pm. You have to be sure to eat an early supper by about 4pm because we’ll get slammed from after work time through closing. This year I bought a memory foam wheelchair cushion at a garage sale-at my advanced age those metal folding chairs in a windowless church social hall get butt-numbing after a few hours.
Send me a PM if you miss getting an “I Voted “ sticker. I’ll send a couple snail mail.
I voted this afternoon, at the Cook County early-voting facility which is located at the Village Hall in the municipality where I live. It serves as the closest early-voting site for our suburb, and several others, and when I got there, around 2pm, there was a line out the door.
I started the stopwatch app on my phone when I got into line, and it was almost exactly an hour between getting into the line, and being shown to a voting machine. Thankfully, it was a gorgeous day today, and I passed the time chatting with the people in line beside me.
Colorado voter here and I signed up for BallotTrax. Put my ballot in the drop box by my local library at about 7:20 AM. Received a text at at 11:29 AM stating, “Your 2024 General Election mail ballot has been counted by {such and such} County Colorado.”
Sorry~you are right! I do need to clean my glasses…or at least put the\m on! I’m laying on a mat next to my grandson’s toddler bed trying to coax him to sleep and I had taken my glasses off and I was squinting at a dim ipad screen in the dark. Mea culpa.
Nice to meet another old crone. You’ve got a yeay or at least 3 months on me-I won’t be 75 until January.
I didn’t realize it was going to be quite that long. If the weather hadn’t been lovely, I would have come back a different time.
Still only the second-longest that I’ve waited in line to vote. The first time I ever voted in a presidential election was 1984, and my college roommate and I stood in line (in 40-degree weather) for two hours to vote. By the time we got to the front of the line, it was already past closing time for the polls (8pm), but we were still allowed to vote, because we had been in line at 8pm.
LOL, you’re forgiven. Since my left-eye cataract surgery I’ve taken to removing my glasses for reading books and the computer; need them for TV and driving.
Still more than three months ahead of you – my 76th BD is in February. I’m OLD OLD OLD HAHAHAHAHA
That’s pretty much what happened in my case, in '84. Poll workers came out several times when it was getting closer to 8pm, and announced, “if you’re already in line, you will be allowed to vote, even if it’s after 8pm.” Then, when 8pm hit, they stationed a poll worker at the back of the line, to turn any late-comers away.
No, but we (actually two of us, of different political parties) goes to the end of the line at precisely 8pm and notes who is there by the cutoff time.
