I want a nobel peace prize!

What does one need to accomplish to recieve a nobel peace prize? Do they need to create peace, invent something beneficial, or what?

In addition, does anyone know where (a site) I can find a list of those who earned one of those prize?

typing “Nobel peace prize winners” into google would be a good start, failing that http://www.nobel.se/peace/laureates/

If Cecil ain’t got one, why the heck should you?

How badly do you want it ? Are you ready to kill for it ?

No.

I still don’t understand what is required to get one.

And why would someone decline a prize?http://www.nobel.se/peace/laureates/1973/index.html

“Le Duc Tho . . . (Declined the prize)”

Well, looking at the list some of them have been won for things such as:

Ending Apartheid (Nelson Mandela and F W De Klerk, Desmond Tutu)
Negotiating a peace settlement of sorts between Israel and enemies of Israel (Shimon Peres, Yitzhak Rabin, and Yasser Arafat, as well as Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat)
Tearing down the Berlin Wall (Mikhael Gorbachev)
Fighting against the Communist government of Poland (Lech Walesa)
Campaigning to ban landmines
Holding peace talks in Vietnam (Henry Kissinger and Le Duc Tho)
Coming up with the Marshall Plan (George Catlett Marshall)
Campaigning for nuclear disarmament (Linus Pauling, IIRC)
Ending World War I and helping create the League of Nations (Woodrow Wilson)

According to articles on the site, the panel that chooses who gets the prize consists of five people chosen by the Norwegian parliament for six year terms. They seem to pretty much have a good bit of leeway in deciding who has done the most in a given year for the cause of peace.
