I want to go home and play Oblivion

I am working on replacing the MadGod Sheogorath with…myself. Soon, I shall be king* of all the crazy! Bow to me! Or not! But if you don’t, I’ll have your eyeballs torn out.

*My character is a male.

Just retired my lvl32 Nord tank and started playing an Altmer thief/mage. Sure wish there was a place to hock the Amulet of Kings.

I want to go home and play Fallout New Vegas :frowning:

I want to go home and play Arma2. A warfare map so I can take over the island, one town at a time!

Me too! Becoming MadGod was fun. And then you don’t have to listen to him and his bizarre “accent” anymore! You remind me that I never did finish Knights of the Nine, and my little skinless hound buddy is probably still waiting patiently for me to return. But I’m pretty busy with Fallout 3 right now, and I’m having a baby in a week or two, so… yeah. It’ll have to wait.

:: Drool :: Do you actually have it somehow, or are you just wishing?

Wishful thinking.

Hm, I got distracted during my last game (it’s like my 5th character). I might have to go finish things up this weekend.

And Heart of Dorkness, a baby is not necessarily an impediment to video game playing! My husband sat on the floor, held our son in his lap, and played… something… on the Xbox while he was on paternity leave. The baby was happy being held, I was happy having some baby-free time, and my husband was happy gaming! Voila, a happy home!

I had to double-check again who was posting the OP. My GF has a similar username and just started playing Oblivion. She’s not much of a gamer, but damned if she doesn’t hog the TV these days.

I’m a lvl 24 Breton Battlemage and she’s a lvl 3 Wood Elf Bard, FWIW.

Oblivion sucks my life. I can spend hours playing if I get started. I’m one of those dorks that actually “roleplays”. I know when my chick’s birthday is, and I go to Cheydinhal a lot, since there are other Dark Elves there so of course that’s where I’m most comfortable. I don’t like to fast travel and I am always sure that I sleep and eat at the proper times.

Level 15 Dark Elf Knight here, decked out in the Relics of the Crusader. Nothing can touch me!!

I just finished another Fallout 3 replay (it was like my 4th) and was thinking about another Oblivion replay. Now I’m thinking of it more.

I’m still playing my first time through Fallout 3. I just finished with Canterbury Commons, and I’m thinking tonight is the night I finally make the journey to Rivet City and collapse several plot threads at once.

I’ve played FO3 fully 3 times (except the DLC which I’ve done once)

I had originally thought “Three is enough, even for this game” But I must confess I’ve had thoughts of playing it a fourth time.

*Except this time I would avoid the wasteland survival guide quest like the plague. I found that quest to be a chore and a bore.

As long as we’ve got Oblivion on the brain, I’ll ask for some mod installation help. I want to find out how to use a spellmaking mod with the Steam version of Oblivion. Other mods that use .esp files work great, but I want to unlock the limits on the spellmaker so I can make spells with more punch. The only spellmaking mods I’ve found use .xml files that I can’t get to affect the game.

The folder’s contents are:
Data
-menus
–dialog
—enchantmentsetting_menu (xml document)
–prefabs
—horiz_floating_scroll2 (xml document)

The instructions say to just put the whole menus folder into my Oblivion/Data folder, but this does nothing. At least the Steam version doesn’t even have a menus folder in the Data folder.

Does anyone here know:
a) how to get xml files to affect the game?
or
b) where to get a different mod that will raise the magnitude etc. limits on the spellmaking altars?
