I Want to Meet Barack Obama.

I’m planning on making a $2,300 contribution to Barack Obama’s campaign, but in return for my money, I’d like to meet him. How can I make this happen?

Go to one of his rally’s. Not that he will be able to see you out of the thousands of other people there to meet him…but it’s worth a shot.

Also, his schedule may be a bit tight…there;s a campaign goin on right now in the states and he might be a bit busy.

I figure he’s got to have a $2,300 a plate fund raiser or something where there’s a receiving line and everyone get 15 seconds with him.

I’m sure he does. Look up events on his website…A quicker way would be to go to a rally and get there hours early…

A couple of thoughts. If you’re willing to put some work in, you may want to contact his closest campaign office and get information about how to help get some of your friends to make similar sized donations. People who contribute time and money to a campaign (as opposed to just money) have a higher value to campaigns, and tend to get some perks – maybe invites to receptions, hand-shakings, whatever.

But seriously, a lot of these things are simply up to chance. You could be invited to a reception only to find there’s 300 people there and you don’t get a chance to say hello, or he might not even be passing through your neck of the woods anytime soon.

Oh, and just to be sure I’m not misinterpreting the OP, you would most assuredly have to donate before you get invited to any of these events. None of this “First I get to tell him about the perpetual motion machine I invented, THEN I hand over the check!” business.

Actually, I saw something about a meet 'n greet dinner the other day – but the price was a $23,000. You’re just not in the same ballpark.

:dubious: Nobody’s shown you a Queeen of Diamonds playing card recently, have they?
