I was hit on and then cruelly rejected by a gay guy!

I’m standing in this shop, minding my own business, perusing the wares. I hear a voice comin from stage right: “There’s a really sexy guy standing over there.” There are two gay guys a little further down the aisle. They are taking furtive little glances over at me. There is nobody else in the aisle. I look away, feeling a little awkward. I then hear the other one say “He’s too old for me, though.”

Hearing the first comment made me feel like a stud. Hearing the second comment made me feel like an old man (I’m not that old, by the way!). They were speaking just loud enough for me to hear them, seemingly making no attempt to whisper. It was like I was picked up, then dumped within the space of 10 seconds.

That is all I have to say. It was an odd experience, just something I thought I would share with the group. Anyone else have something similar happen?

I ran into a former high school classmate a couple of years after graduation. We chatted for a bit, then he said “You know, I always thought you were really pretty, but you were too smart for me.”

I still can’t quite say exactly why that didn’t feel like a compliment…I mean, “pretty”, “smart”, those are good things, right? Right?

I would have just said, “You’re right. I AM too smart for you.”

Then I would have winked. Ha.

I think I just said, “Ah, thanks…”, but I did think “Man oh man, was I ever too smart for you in high school…”

And I was, too.
