I Was Irrationally Angry At This

I had one of those today. I have a friend who, along with a group of professors, left today to do research in Antarctica for several months. I was trying to track him down today to say goodbye, and barely missed him. I did run into the group of profs in the parking lot.

“Hey, is Jim around?”

“Nope. Just left. Guess you’ll just have to catch him after Antarctica.”

Snide, snide, snide.

No shit, dickhole. Hope your boots freeze to the ice.

Depends on how she meant the three “NOs”. This is the problem with e-mail – ideas often look different than they sound, or people don’t know how to make the language look the way it sounds. Maybe she meant, “Nonono” as in a kind of jocular, “Omigod, I screwed up and didn’t make myself clear to jali!” Or, it could have been, “No! No! No!” as in, “Jali, you incompetent boob, you’re screwing this all up!” Or something in between. The way you represented it in the OP looks more like the second, and yeah, that would piss me right straight off. But it could be that she just wasn’t imaginative enough to make it look the way it was supposed to sound.

Does any of this make sense?

I, for one, welcome our new Lawrence & Kelly overlords.

I understand completely. I have two things that set off my angry-o-meter, the phrase “you people” directed at groups of individuals and/or companies and people who don’t understand that they either bought something or purchased something, they did not in fact “boughten” anything. One is rude and the other is dumb and they both make me gnash my teeth in anger.
