It was unexpected. Normally you’re told a week or two in advance. But due to my work schedule & my family obligations, I can’t really say on any given day that I’ll definitely be there. Apparently since there were a couple other testings anyway and I’ve been at my current rank for a long time, the instructor felt I deserved the opportunity.
One of the other black belts who’s been there for 10 - 15 years (maybe longer) said he’s only seen 2 other people just pulled out of the line and tested without warning.
Eh, mundane and pointless. But heck, I gotta tell some one!! Woo hoo!!
