I was let go from my job

And so it goes. I was given notice while on sick leave. The project I was hired for has been closed down, and I was the only person on it.

Now we have not a lot of money in our accounts, the most significant income source (my salary) of the family is gone, we won’t be able to visit my family in Italy this year, and we will still have to pay for the nursery - they want a three months notice before leaving. And there’s the mortgage, and of course the bill.

This is depressing. :frowning:

My deepest consolations. I was off work for a little over two years recently, and we lost our house because of it. (Things have turned around.) Here’s hoping things get better for you quickly.

Just curious - what’s the worst that could happen if you don’t pay the nursery?

I was going to ask the same thing.

Or, do they have a simple, lower, early termination fee?

I’m sorry you lost your job, tho. It’s never fun no matter how well you’re prepared or cushioned (or not). :frowning:

They sell the kid?

If there’s a contract, they could take him to small claims court. He’d be better off going over there and explaining his situation to the owners of the place.

Gotta file a lien on him first. Could take months.
