I was nearly a victim of road rage

Yay for Hugh Jass (and funny name, too, BTW)!

I, too, am a recovering road rager. That is, I’m trying - I’m not fully recovered yet. But I’m trying.

It’s just not worth it - stressing over the entire commute to get there, what, three minutes earlier than someone else? Not worth the stress at all.

But it’s hard - we all want to believe that we’re the best drivers out there. Like someone said earlier in this thread (I forget who, apologies) we’re the bad drivers. All of us. Not the other guys. We are. That’s important to remember.

Guys, get over yourselves. Just drive safe, for heaven’s sakes. Relax - you’ll enjoy it a lot more.

Snicks

What if this guy had a gun in his car and killed YOU?
Please be more careful. I don’t want you to die! I know at least two people (including myself) who need you!

I cringed when I saw you are from Canada. Pitty, what an embarassment.

He’s from Toronto. That doesn’t really count.

Ahh, I love canadian wit. Know where I can find some?

Actually, 2 days ago I was driving home from the kingston area (near ottawa) and noticed something very strange. People kept to the right! I was so shocked I stayed right as well thinking something was up but no! People actually kept the left lane for passing! OMFG! So my friends and I (3 cars in total) passed on the left lane (and swung back into the right lane when we weren’t “passing”) and maintained a healthy 140 (85-ish mph) all the way home. I have to give kudos to drivers outside of Toronto for their driving abilities. I knew I was back in TO when I got blocked in just past oshawa by several cars doing the limit, in the left lane, at 11 pm on a sunday (we had to pass on the far right).

I also had the distinction, due to this thread, of calling in a lady blocking the left lane in a tan mini-van (windstar, I gave her plates as well). I felt sorry for her since she looked scared but she was in the left lane, for over 5 kms, blocking traffic because she couldn’t pass a truck on the right. She got honked and waved at and one guy in a truck cut her off very badly (I was behind her but staying well behind her). I called her in and hope the police will take care of her, she doesn’t belong on the highway…or behind the wheel (I gave a running commentary as I passed her, safely, on the right lane).

So all you fuckers out there beware! I’m going to call in EVERY motherfucker for impeding. Maybe I’ll get a medal

So where were you, Kingston or Ottawa? They’re two very different places, two and a half hours apart.

Kingston, I was racing at Shannonville race track (yeah yeah, I know it’s not THAT close, I’m just trying to clarify for non-canadians). Shannonville is just before Kingston (about 190 kms from Toronto) and it’s so damn small it isn’t even on mapquest (I estimate it’s about 50 KM from Kingston but it’s hard to tell, anyone from the area can make a better estimate).

I spent the day racing on a track with my street vehicle then went home.
