Debatable. The Alaska Supreme Court ruled decades ago that the state had no valid right to prevent citizens from deciding what to put in their bodies. State, not federal, Constitutional right.
The weed store opened 8 blocks from my place when Arizona suddenly, totally, legalized it. The first few days in Tucson, the wait in line was close to 3 hours.
The edibles did nothing and the smoke-able stuff was so hopped up you really couldn’t function. Just too potent. It also made my tinnitus much louder, my diet went down the tubes from all those sweets, and it was messing up my reaction time on the eBike. So I gave it up and prefer the un-stoned state now.
That experience reminded of my old time, small time weed selling days ($13 for a lid). A friend stopped buying it because he said he could afford the weed but he couldn’t afford the groceries!
Explain, please. Was it tampered with, or just stronger than you expected?
The THC content was, whoa. Something like over 90% on the vape carts. This was not your grandmother’s weed.
The very definition of “feature, not a bug”.
It’s just about impossible to find low-dose edibles (I can’t tolerate inhaling smoke) in New Mexico, which just legalized recreational marijuana last year, but there’s a wider selection in Colorado and it’s better still in California. I’m hoping we’ll get more choices with time and more manufacturers coming into the market. It’s possible this is a factor of the size of the market, though, in which case we may be out of luck here.
Low dose edibles? Can’t you just eat less? Seriously.
As long as they’re in dividable form, yes, and that’s what I do. The issue is that I’m taking it to quell arthritis pain, so most of the time, I’m not trying not to get very high. If I had a medical card, there might be more options, but once recreational became legal, I didn’t bother. This isn’t me saying no one should have higher doses or that what’s available can’t be divided; I’m just looking for more consumer choice.
What product isn’t divisible? I do hope you find alleviation for your arthritis.
There are some hard candies that can’t be divided, although one could always not suck the whole thing. Otherwise, like you, I don’t understand the complaint. I have cancer pain that varies, and when I don’t need as much relief I eat half a gummy instead of a whole one.
I do that too, and aside from the general ick factor of cutting (or biting, if I’m honest) a gummy in half or quarters, it works, sort of. However, if I have a cookie or breakable candy, there are crumbs to deal with and I can’t be sure of the dose. As for hard candies, it’s virtually impossible to split those in a controlled way, and I’m not eager to save a spit-covered half-eaten candy for later.
Again, it’s hardly a huge issue, but I’d like a little more choice.
If you have an aversion to cutting gummies, I’m going to assume you’re not a big fan of slasher flicks ![]()
Does anybody’s shops offer good old-fashioned hash? I didn’t see any on my menu, and forgot to ask. I guess some of the concentrates are about the same thing.
We once bought a chocolate about 2" square, about the thickness of a hershey bar, that was infused with 70mg of THC. That is quite a lot, but at least it could be cut up some. The person behind the counter said we should cut it up. And, naturally, the maker embedded a whole fucking almond, right in the middle.
Sometimes you feel like a nut.
Yes, the dispensary I was at today had a sign for Lebanese and Moroccan Hash $30 gram and bubble hash for $49 gram. I don’t know if that’s good or the quality, I just saw the sign in the store and the items on their online menu.
As far as I know recreational use is still strictly illegal.
We thought we would be getting weed stores here in Virginia at least by 2024 but the legislature has killed it. I don’t really care much as I can get weed to smoke easily, possession is legal now, and also becasue a new store has opened that sells Delta 9 gummies. I had smoked Delta 8 a couple of times but it didn’t affect me. A store just opened down the street so I tried Delta 9 gummies. Didn’t expect much but got a really good high. I’m not worried that there is fentanyl in them but that post above did get me thinking. How do I know exactly what is in them, it’s not like I can go see a manufacturing plant. Should I be concerned?
Do the gummies have a brand name they would be anxious to protect, or that the store would vouch for? I wonder if most stores belong to a trade group who would look out for them. I guess it’s kind of up to the weed community to sort out this kind of issue.
