I wish I had a buck for every time I heard the phrase...

“It was soooooo funny…” as they proceed to tell you the most mind-numbingly boring anecdote that you have ever heard.

This is the favourite phrase of someone I work with, and has cropped up at least 3 times a day for the last 6 months…

“Oh, God! How can you smoke?!”

With all that money, I could buy more cigarettes!

**“My Bad” ** I can not STAND this-Grrrrr!

"What up, Dawg" Not offensive, except to “dogs”

"Whatever" Translated means I do not know ANYTHING

l’ll do it later" Translated means I will end up doing it.

I live with a teenager and I really would be rich by now after hearing these phrases EVEN IN MY SLEEP

“Gentlemen, what we have here is a terrifying example of the Reindeer Effect.”

“War on terror”.

That’s how I feel about it, too. No phrase inspires more teeth-gnashing and righteous anger than “My bad”. I will almost always say something to the effect of, “Oh, your bad what? Hmm? Graawr!” Or something like that.

“yo”

Wow, 10 day workweek, eh? That’s pretty serious.

“I guess you had to be there,” which roughly translates to “Wasn’t that just the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard? I knew it was, that’s why I told you.”

“So, do you have a boyfriend yet?”

Yo, it’s Christina25!

“That postion has already been filled.”

“In and of itself”

OK, so in fairness I rarely hear it, but I see it here all the time.

‘In and of itself’ is not wrong in and of itself, but in and of itself it’s driving me round the twist! In and of itself.

“_________ , or the terrorists will win!”
"____________, so that the terrorist won’t win.

“its sooooo coooolld outsiiide”
“it’s soo hot todaaaayy”
“But it’s raaaaiiinning…” *Shut the fuck up! It is only normal weather! *

“Coffee’s hot ya know!”
“why are you drinking semi-frozen pop when the snow is 6 inches deep?”
“What do you mean lunchtime?it is 2:30 am!”
“when are you gonna switch to days”

“You’re Canadian? Really? You sound so normal.”

This is strange to me, considering everyone knows how freakish and weird all Canadians sound.

“makes the baby Jesus cry.”

I mean, don’t get me wrong; I think it’s funny, just overused.

“You go girl”

“Worse case scenario”
