I worry about my husband sometimes

/Hank Hill

That boy’s not right in the head, is he?

I swear to Og, that I read this as : They’re orange and taste vaguely like vaginas.

I don’t know where that came from.

Just the fact that anybody likes “Circus Peanuts” makes me think he’s got a screw loose. I would think dipping them in chocolate fondue would only make them a billion times better.

I’d lick the chocolate off, and spit out the “peanut”.

Those things are freakin’ nasty! And to THINK I used to have a high opinion of you, Airman Doors!

Well, if you were to pick a body part to describe the taste of circus peanuts, I wouldn’t pick that one, but you’re in the neighborhood.

Actually it’s:

The boy ain’t right.

Damn, there were circus peanuts there and I missed them? Damn.

Hmmm…I like banana flavored stuff-maybe I’ll try them sometime. If I don’t like them, I’m sure Maggie, my kitten, would eat them-she’ll eat anything that’s people food.

My ex used to like Circus Peanuts and Guiness beer as a snack.

Would that make them Soylent Orange?

IMO,Circus Peanuts[sup]TM[/sup] are okay. I’d eat them if they were around, but I’ve never bought any. The chocolate dipping seems like a reasonable experiment. Now if the fondue was nacho cheese flavored, that would be cause for concern.

Personally I like to dip them in kraut juice. (insert sarcastic smiley here)

So is there much overlap between the folks who like Circus Peanuts and the folks who like peeps? Or are we talking Hatfields and McCoys, with anyone who likes both attacked by both sets of purists?

(Must admit that I don’t like either, but could choke either down.)

Yllaria: count me as a Marshmallow-y Snack Separatist. I actually like Circus Peanuts. Not that I buy them regularly (or in years, in fact). But if offered, I’d gladly scarf a bunch. As weird as it sounds, there’s something pleasurable in the consistency of Circus Peanuts, a certain firmness that gives (just slightly) into a sort of mushiness.

Peeps, though, are an abomination.

But what the Hell do I know? After all, I also enjoy Spam.

So, from a sample of one, there is no overlap between the folks who like Circus Peanuts and the folks who like Peeps.

Yeah, but you like marmite too.

God, circus peanuts. I hate those things. And cadbury creme eggs and peeps too.

I think I need to go lay down.

No Cadbury eggs?! Not even the best kind, the ones that are filled with caramel?

Infidel!

You know, you guys are ragging on Circus Peanuts like they’re the nastiest stuff on earth, but I’ll bet that most of you like eggplant, which I consider to be the most vile, most disgusting “food” on the planet.

The mere sight of eggplant makes me vomit. Immediately. Give me food starch reinforced artificially flavored marshmallows any day of the year over that stuff.

I kinda like them. It’s hard to explain. I’m drawn to them inexplicably every few years… and each time, I eat a few, and convince myself they aren’t as good as I remembered. Then the cycle recurs…

Never had peeps though.

Offspring and I love our Circus Peanuts but we like them properly aged so they have a nice snap when you bite into them. To age them properly you need to buy a bag 6 months in advance, open them, leave them in a dark dry place, then wait. This does not affect the flavor, just the consistency.

Mmmmm…sweetened cardboard with artifical banana flavoring…

Have we accounted for the 12 people who like circus peanuts yet? Count me in!We can be the 12 Apostles of the Circus Peanuts. I nominate Qadgop to write the Epistles!
When I read the OP and saw the Circus peanuts and then chocolate fondue I knew where it was heading, but this sounds like one of those things that CirPeanut lovers will have to try for themselves, sorry Airman.
I also like Peeps, something about the gooey marshmallow and crunchy sugar coating … and biting the heads off little animals.

I also like eggplant but not at the same time as the peeps or CirPeanuts.

I hate, HATE!, Cadbury Creme Eggs but Loooove the caramel and chocolate truffle filled ones.

I agree with the commets that CirPeanut loving has a lot to do with the texture. It’s like being able to not only chew on your pencil eraser but actually get to eat it and it tastes like banana! A child’s dream come true.

Now go in peace my children to love and serve the Circus Peanut.

They’re $0.99 around here. I think it would be OK to throw away $0.99 cents worth of circus peanuts if you didn’t like them.

And I am one who is pretty neutral about them, really. They taste kind of chewy, and not good or bad. They are fun to put in stockings and stuff, though because they’re so bright. But no one likes them, so I end up not doing it anyway!

Mystery Science Theater 3000 had a skit involving homemade epicac formulas – food combinations designed to induce vomiting.

The one that I remember: Cherry Nyquil poured over circus peanuts.

That would do the trick for me!

I like Circus Peanuts, Cabury Cream Eggs, and Peeps. Bow before my mighty digestive system.
