IBMs HOD problem not sure what question to ask...

I have a windows 7 PC with IE 8.

Service Pack 1

CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 3.1GHz 3.10Ghz
4G Ram
64-Bit OS

I am trying to bookmark a 3270 session. I can bookmark it but when I try to use the bookmark nothing displays in the browser window, and there shows at the bottom left corner a caution symbol. It says Done, but when I double click on that I get:

*Webpage error details

I tried some googleFU but for me its more like googlefool.

T/S guides on the net really don’t seem to help me much. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this fixed, or is it something really silly that I am missing? I did look into the internet options and scripting IS enabled…

The session itself works fine when I open it normally, I just want to convience of a bookmark but it doesnt want to work for me although I did follow the directions exactly.

I didn’t know it was possible to bookmark, let alone use, a 3270 session in a web browser. Apparently, this is a clever trick of IBM’s Host On Demand application.

I’m assuming Ford has a helpdesk or two. With the further assumption that you’re using a PC with a Ford corporate image, my best advice would be to contact them. Chances are they’re familiar wth the situation.

Helpdesk is sooo…slow.

Was hoping for straightdope kung fu masters to save the day

Does using a 3270 session in the browser require Internet Explorer 8? I’m just wondering if it might be a compatibility problem that they’ve fixed in IE9.
