Up, caffeinated ,and sheveled. Off to work. Closing shift tonight.
Morning all. Layabed until nearly 9am, for some reason I was really tired all yesterday despite sleeping normally. Not much on the schedule until the afternoon soccer practice (which I won’t forget this time).
Butters, some weeks just seem to stretch, don’t they? And sometimes the months and years seem to fly past (at least for old guys like me). Hang in there.
Nava, never ridden Ryanair (or the other cheapo airline EasyJet), but from what I have heard they are even more cattle-car like than US airlines (which can be hard to believe). I wouldn’t worry, there are a lot of passengers that probably don’t have mothers that strict on language…
FCM, here’s a song to help keep you awake… Rock-a-bye Baby | CoComelon Nursery Rhymes & Kids Songs - YouTube
All y’all take care now. Will forage for sustenance here in a bit.
Still functioning… barely… Just over 3 hours to go - hope I can make it.

After their last attempt at squeezing even more fees out of passengers, the one which got them a purdy fine from Italy:
“‘Cattle class’ is supposed to be an insult; O’Leary thinks it’s a business objective.”
“That O’Leary guy is just very literal. We ought’a be grateful he doesn’t connect women’s boobs and men’s dicks to milking machines.”
I’ve flown Ryanair and I’ve flown Southwest. The Southwest planes were smaller but the process was better and nobody tried to sell us scratch tickets. Norwegian is about as bad; I haven’t flown easyjet in years but back when I did it was pretty decent (unlike Ryanair they didn’t employ deceptive sales tactics and pricing); vueling or aireuropa are almost hoity-toity compared with the previous three.
15 minutes… I might just make it…
We have struck sun!
Hey - as much rain as we’ve had this year that rates as big news.
Howdy Y’all! I have accomplished all the adultin’ I set out to do today. Go Me! The clerk at Lowe’s had great difficulty understandin’ the difference between mulch and pine straw, however. Twice she rang up mulch instead of pine straw. Mulch is way pricier. Third time it rang up pine straw. YAY! Took ONLY HALF AN HOUR for that to happen. :smack:
Since today turned out to be a nice day, we made two dump runs to get rid of the branches and crap out back. Still more to go but it needs to be cut up so it will fit in the truck.
Ran out of time too. The dump closes too early up here.
I got my new phone case today. The old one was getting too stuffed with stuff and wouldn’t stay closed. The new one holds a lot more, but it opens the wrong way, the magnet closure is on the back instead of the front. If I turn it around then the phone is upsidedown. If I put the phone in the other way, then the camera is covered. Feels weird.
Also got my lighted reading glasses today. I can’t believe I had to sign for them, there were only $9. I think the light will be helpful when I am trying to read something not electronic.
Bills got paid today. I have to use up the leftover ground beef from Moonday. I had a three pound package and the stuff in the middle was still frozen. Should be thawed by now I think.
I’m having a hard time staying awake.
25 minutes. Another long day. No plans for supper. Hope hubs feels like cooking cause I don’twanna. Blurf
I put the ‘hood’ on the MG. It’s a ‘stow-away top’, which means you take it off and put it in the ‘boot’ when you’re not using it. I took the tonneau cover off and folded it, and put the support rods back in their case. The ‘hood’ frame is stored in two halves. I put them together and put the assembly on the car. Then I unfolded the top and put it on. Since Mrs. L.A. is out visiting a patient, I drove the MG to the supermarket.
My boss is retiring next year (July, I think). I’m supposed to take over her job. That means I need access to make changes in our system. I asked our admin about getting the necessary permissions, and she said ‘Last time I chatted with [the president] he did not want that permission granted.’ Hm… :dubious:
That has me wondering what’s going to happen when my boss retires. If I don’t have the permissions to do her job, then I can’t do her job. The president (wrongly) thinks my position isn’t really needed. I may just be paranoid, but… I wonder if I should start selling off all of my belongings. Anyone want to buy a bunch of firearms and movie equipment?
I’ll solve half your problems for you! Guns are like Jello – I always find room for more. Any cannons, mortars, Krags, Mausers or muzzleloaders involved? But I’ll take anything really ----- and have.
(Movie props I would be interested in but mostly horror stuff.)
Actually my thoughts will be to you being afraid of nothing. But just in case ------- keep me in mind.
Supper was burgers and tots. I’m figuring on an early bedtime today - I’s tahred! I may seek out Mel…
No movie props. 16mm cameras and lighting equipment.
I haven’t been to the range in a dozen years. I have some guns I’ve never even fired! Colt ‘Signature’ black powder revolvers, Uberti ‘Colt’ revolvers, a Colt’s Government Model with civilian s/n made in 1916, a 1916 Webley, a 1916 ‘Red 9’ broomhandle Mauser, new Ruger 10/22 with a Mannlicher stock and original stock, unfired Marlin 39A, an original Armalite AR-180, some 'AR-15’s (Bushmaster and others), a Walther P.1 (P.38)… I don’t know. I have like 60 all together, and I never use them!
Dinner’s in the oven. I got some chicken cordon bleu from the supermarket. I’ll make some frozen Brussels sprouts w/butter sauce to go with them.
Howdy Y’all! We supped leftovers and made 'em all go away. This means I must figure out tomorow’s sup. Life can be so hard!
Flyboy take the fart blossoms and throw 'em in the trash. That’s the only thing I can think to do with 'em. ICK!
How about eating them? YUM!
Ruble, I like you but <trip> Raises hand.
butters, here are a couple of brands that I discovered for toys when Nelson was going through his make a snow storm in the studip with the stuffed toy phase: https://www.chewy.com/s?query=zippypaws&nav-submit-button= or https://www.petflow.com/product/kyjen/invincible-mini-hedgehog-plush-dog-toy . We’ve had really good luck with both brands. They’re plush covered squeakies in essence. Nelson’s lovey, Rocky Raccoon is a Zippy Paws and his favorite fetch toy, Sonic Hedgehog (yes, his toys have names ) from Invincible Minis have both been around for a while.
Got my foot x-rayed (arthritis, just as I expected), spent far too long at the pharmacy, then took a friend to Nashville to the eye doctor (leaving town @ 5 PM meant that it took 1.5 hours to go the 36 miles to where he was staying), got home and et. Now, its sloth until bedtime.
I think Mel will also be keeping me company tonight. Dinner was Taco Bell, requested by DH. His appetite hasn’t been so good lately and he’s lost a scary amount of weight since his accident, so anything high-calorie he finds enticing, I’m willing to indulge him.
The callers weren’t too horrific today, there were just too many, and I had my least favorite queue most of the day. We’re also playing “musical desks” a lot, with a class of newbies having hit the call floor this week. They were kept in a cluster for a sup to easily be able to babysit them all. Next week, we’re reconfiguring again, this time shuffling the newbies together with the experienced agents. I’ve already been notified I’ll pretty much be surrounded by newbies so I can help the sups help them, and other older hands will be in a similar position. Fine by me, I like being helpful.
I was ready to smack a couple of people (offenders were probably from other sites) for failing to FULLY perform a particular process. Under one specific special circumstance, an additional step is mandatory before said process can be done. This step was missed in these two cases. I was able to sort it out, but my handle time got pretty awful.
