I would have repeated a line I used ages ago and you may feel free to use it in the future if you ever have to:
Back at Da Old Jungle me and a friend were talking about the various things our churches had going on for Christmas and this guy we didn’t know says “Excuse me – are you with the ELCA?”
I said quite proudly yes and he looked me square in the eye and said “Lutherans are the spawn of Satan” and turned and started to walk away. Something came over me (I blame Leviticus) and I said in the lowest gravely voice I could
“Your mother sews socks in Hell”.
He never spoke to either of us again.
Whats the deal with people posting at the exact same minute these days? Surely its a sign of something related to great minds. Or no lives.
Wrap yourself in it & roll off the roof, like one of those college engineering egg drop class finals.
Got the first three in, the last two are a bust. Naps the last two days to make up for the lack of sleep. Went axe throwing & then to Octoberfest this evening; I’m stuffededed! Only had any food two times today but both were buffets; I think I ate more than on a normal day. :o
Evening all. They already cancelled soccer for tomorrow and rescheduled it for next weekend, compressing a 2-weekend tournament into 1 weekend. If things go as planned, I will be coaching 12 games in 2 days… May have to miss a couple, glad my 10U have an assistant coach who can take over.
Helped out with passing out medals and stuff for the 4-7 year olds and talking with some friends, did a couple of errands and had a good nappage this afternoon. Tomorrow will be less active than that, might actually clean up around the house…
ace, weird people be weird. You should have cackled manicially and used this curse from the movie Buckaroo Banzai
Looks like the rain has moved on (until Wednesday according to the forecast). Hope next weekend is dry.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 79 and possibly N.O.S. this afternoon. The big plan of the day is deheathenization followed by N.O.L. somewhere although I’d rather just come back to da cave and have sammiches. Sup will be via forage as there’s various stuff that needs to get et up.
ace wow! Then again, it was :eek:Wally*World:eek: so guess you gotta expect encounters with :eek:Walmartians:eek:.
Ruble Ima save that line for future use. I am sure it will come in handy sooner or later.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Good morning. Tis 6am on Sunday and why am I up in the dark? Yesterday afternoon rain started and continued all night. The only plan for today is a hair cut.
I haz a sad - my Nats have lost 2 in a row, and it’s raining so badly today, they may not be able to play. What do they do for a World Series rain day?
I was up first and I took care of Roxy’s breakfast. She grabbed the spoon and tried to feed herself oatmeal, but she couldn’t shovel it in her face fast enough, so she gave it back to me. Then she came begging for a bite of my PB&J - sometimes I think that kid has a tapeworm!!
No idea what today holds, besides rain. Maybe I’ll decide after I’m caffeinated. Happy Sunday!!
Everyone is both welcomed and encouraged to! I’ve used it at different times in situations like that and it always seems to do the job for me. Especially since I can put my voice an octave or two below base and approaching basement.
On another note Da Dope looks different on my screen today; for whatever the reason the font looks smaller. Strange. It almost looks close to a “1” or how a 1 usually looks on my screen.
**ruble **- have you tried CTRL+ to increase the size? It works for me.
I’m showered, dressed, and about to assume the knit position. It’s supposed to rain all day, and Roxy is going to her other grandmother’s. Daughter and **FCD **will be in the shop much of the day. No clue what SIL will be up to - supposedly he’s been dealing with a migraine, but honestly, I think he’s a hypochondriac. When things get tough, he gets “sick” - I hope I’m wrong, but it’s pretty suspicious.
Morning all. Rain has gone away and hopefully we’ll start drying out. Cleaning house is high on the list for today’s activities.
Got a problem; my assistant coach for 10U soccer is going in the hospital this week for surgery and will be out for 6 weeks. Unfortunately I’ve got conflicting games this weekend, and I can’t be in two places at once. Will have to hope something can be done.
Good morning. Nothing much is on the agenda for the day.
A friend just dropped off two dozen duck eggs, and I got them put away. I do need to fold/distribute/put away a load of laundry. I already got the vacuuming taken care of, and I haven’t decided what dinner will be. So, I’ll need to figure that out, at some point. Probably a pizza. A Keto pizza (The ‘crust’ will be a low carb tortilla. NOT a vile cauliflower crust!). Not a real pizza. Humbug. That’s how it goes, though.
I got the Halloween decorations put back out on the porch. The wind was absolutely wicked, last night. I had to unhook everything, and bring it inside. Hopefully, the wind won’t be acting up like that, until after Halloween, again. Stupid wind. There are branches/limbs down all over the area. The rain is done, for a few days, anyway, and it’s nice, and sunny out there.
I think this afternoon will consist of reading. I bought a book at Dollar General, of all places. It’s called ‘The Diviners’, by Libba Bray. It’s 578 pages, and I’m 271 pages into it. Believe it, or not, it’s pretty good! I love it when I find cheap books that are good reading!
Yesterday we went out to breakfast at a diner in Blaine. It was OK, but we won’t be going back. From there, we went to Bellingham International to go to the aviation museum. We’d been once before, years ago. It’s no longer there.
We didn’t do anything the rest of the day. I drove the MG to the self-wash and sprayed it off, then went to the supermarket. I made some escargots, then about an hour later I made filet mignon, creamed spinach with feta, and baked potatoes.
Today we’re supposed to see a play called The Witches, which is being presented by the local community theatre group. I only know about it because one of the actors works for a company that sends us data, and she mentioned it in an email.
Mooooom, not knowing what happens for a rain day during the WS is a sign that it’s your team’s first run at it.
do****ggio, Nelson can be a bit put off by rain, but he surprised me Friday afternoon. We went out and he peed (he knows we don’t go in until that happens). Once inside, I got him out of his harness/leash and began to put away my lunch kit when he started his circle dance. I harnessed him back up right away and took his little butt back out. He actually pooped in the rain! He managed to get a treat both times when we came beck in.
metal mouse, are there any parents who can step up to the plate?
ace, I’m good with the low carb tortillas for a pizza base. I’ve always liked the very thin crust pizzas anyway.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, towels folded, a load of clothes in the wash and fixing to do KP. Other than the usual Sunday chores, there’s nothing on the plate today, just rest.
**Red **- actually, it’s a sign that this is the first time I paid attention to the WS this much. I lived in Baltimore when the Orioles won the series in '66 and '70 - I just didn’t care as much.
Roxy is about to head to her grandma’s so I can *FINALLY *turn off Sesame Street… Whew!!
He finally ended his 13 hour hold in. Although I suspect he uses Alex Catt’s litterbox on occasion(he’s spent his entire life with cats, so he might have learned by osmosis.)
The Witches performed by the local community theatre, plays next weekend too. We’re going to go next Sunday instead of today.
I need to remember to buy tickets for the Museum of Flight in Seattle for Wednesday, and take out the trash and recycling for the bi-weekly pickup tomorrow.
The promised wind storm arrived at 3:30 am. Sustained wind of 30-40+, with gusts over 70. There is a lot of “stuff” flying around. We still have power, but that could always change. The last news I saw about the Kincaide fire wasn’t good. 80,000+ or more evacuated. A town near here (Oakley) got evacuated suddenly last night, but it looks like they’ve got that under control. There’s a weapons depot fairly close to it, so things could get really interesting if fire took hold in that area.
