Id a movie with a portal in a highway, please

Some friend told me about a movie about a highway that had a portal to another highway in another dimension, well, she told me that cars pass through the portal and they don’t notice that they are changing dimensions, but if a car goes behind, they see that car dissapear, but they don’t reach the portal (presumably this just open and close to swallow some of the cars).

Althought this information is vague, she swears that she saw that movie, and she told me it was David Lynch’s Lost Highway, but obviously it wasn’t. So I told her, don’t worry. My Doper friends surely identify it for us.

Won’t you please?

It’s Alphaville, of course. Definitely one of those films which make you want to hunt down and chastise the band which stole the name and the notoriety.

Mmm… sorry, is this a joke? Your link send me to the Alphaville band site, I didn’t find any reference to the film there.

Neither in the IMDB.

It is in the IMDB; what is probably throwing you off is that the film was originally in French.

Alphaville, une étrange aventure de Lemmy Caution.

Just as a note, Timecop also featured a scene wherein a Temporal Enforcement Officer stepped out of a time portal onto the middle of a highway.

Sorry, I saw it but I thought it was about the band, too. :smack:

Also sounds like Highway to Hell. It’s been awhile since I saw the movie but it involved a portal on a highway swallowing cars.

We can’t forget Being John Malkovich, whose portal occurs at the New Jersey turnpike!

And let’s also not forget The Phantom Tollbooth. That movie freaked me out when I was seven.
