Bought it too 
Just finished The Traveler. That was an entertaining read, with a lot of focus on engineering and Roman society. I’m really impressed witht he level of background knowledge the author obviously has. I could keep up to some extent and had fun guessing what things were intended for. The developments at the end were a nice surprise and I was sorry to have the book end already, made me curious of what was going to happen afterwards.
