It just makes sense, if the police can have **Neutron Star **let them in, it saves a whole lot of trouble with breaking down doors etc.
I may have missed this up-thread but does your friend, the owner, know all this is happening? I saw that he’d already been making plans to evict Dave anyway.
And I’m still shaking my head over Dave’s apparent belief that you WOULDN’T NOTICE hundreds of dollars missing from your bank account. I mean, if you were rich enough to have that sort of cash go missing and not realize it, you sure as hell wouldn’t be sharing a house with him! Sheesh.
Ah - your comment makes more sense now! I thought you were bemused by the police’s courtesy in working with NS’s schedule and not waking him up in order to make the arrest.
Of course, that may be a factor too :). Harrisburg is a pretty nice and courteous area, mostly (I grew up there) though fortunately I’ve never had any personal encounters with the police department.
Well, the killer was from when I lived in Louisiana. He was a coke dealer (I wasn’t a customer; he just hung out with us sometimes and smoked pot) who suspected two people of being narcs. Picked them up from a bar promising some coke. Long story short, they had to identify them by their dental records. Turns out they weren’t narcs, but the person that this asshole bragged about it to the next day was. He’s serving life in Angola now.
And the sister rapist. Eww. I don’t know what to make of that. I hung out with the guy a bunch of times, and one day he just gets picked up from work and we find out that he raped his underage sister and she has a baby by him. Apparently it took her a while to report the crime. She doesn’t want to give the baby up, either. Ugh. I thought I was jaded before that. I was wrong. I hope they lock that creep up and throw away the key.
No shit. I know I have been following this thread and waiting for this ass to get arrested. I can’t imagine how neutron star has been able to contain himself.
neutron, would it be feasible for you to go to the police station in person? Maybe if you can look someone in the eye, it might be harder for them to delay the arrest (unless there’s a legitimate reason, like they’re waiting on fingerprint analysis or something.)
“They” are Sextus Empiricus, George Herbert, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and George Bernard Shaw, all of whom had some variation on “the mills of the gods grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine.” But even Sextus Empiricus was quoting an anonymous someone (or tradition), and it has become proverbial.
at this point, it is likel that the prosecutor’s office would be involved. IME, cop witnesses a bank robbery, arrests then/there. cop stops you drunk driving, arrest right then. cop investigates crime, finds evidence to support arrest, gives same to prosecutor, either they call for a grand jury or they issue a warrant.
I know this was a big deal to the OP, and is a criminal matter, but I rather doubt that it’s the biggest crime occuring in that jurisdiction. or, of course, they may be investigating him for additional charges.
