All the service men and women overseas in combat theatres, may you have a safe and peaceful time until tour of duty is complete. I have no idea what kind of christmas dinner you will be having , how busy the phone lines will be when your contacting your loved ones.
The good folks in the Navy on sea duty, where ever you might be. Due to the nature of the job, its just another day keeping watch, doing drills etc.
Soldiers , Marines , Airmen, Squids, Coasties who are stationed in their home countries but possibly far from home.
The police , fire departments, EMT’s who have to work.
The doctors, nurses and hospital staff who also must work.
Lastly the people who work in industries that require you to work on christmas day, so that we can have power, electricity , clear roads.
Anyone I missed , please excuse the omission and I will remember you for next christmas.
And I have to go to Walgreens later because I was stupid and forgot to pick up eggs I need for a recipe.
It’s idiots like me that make businesses like Walgreens think they need to stay open 24/7, even on holidays. I think I’ll call my mom instead and beg the eggs off of her, so I don’t have to go to the store.
So I’ll raise a glass to the poor retail folks at Walgreens.
