Scrambled eggs (with cheese on top) and bacon for breakfast this morning. I had mine rolled in a couple of low-carb tortillas with a nice dousing of Tapatio as breakfast burritos. A piece of Jimmy Dean’s sausage in the fridge was looking kinda grey so I cooked that too. It tasted fine to me, but Goo wouldn’t eat the morsel I offered her.
Last night I dreamed about eating: I was at some sort of magic buffet with all of my favorite carbs and snack/junk foods, and nothing made me sick! It was wonderful. I think it was prompted by all the talk of yummy snack cakes in this thread. ![]()
One of the good things about surgery vs a diet is that there is no such thing as “never again” in terms of food. During this first year my new tummy is sensitive, so I need to be careful, but eventually I should be able to eat anything – just in small amounts. A friend who had gastric bypass 1.5 years ago recently told me that she’s even able to eat a slice of pizza every now and then. I hope to have a bite of a Swiss Roll or HoHo or Devil Dog again someday!
Sorry about the taxes headache, Mooooom! ![]()
I’m still waiting for one more W-2 before I can do mine: I got the one from the county, for the election that I worked in June, but I still need the one from my employer. I also have the interest statement from my credit union, and a statement from the HSA I was enrolled in last year. Luckily my taxes are very simple/straightforward, so as soon as that last W-2 arrives I can log into H&R Block {fist-bumps Baker} and take care of filing. I usually wind up owing the feds a little bit, but not enough to make it worth adjusting my withholding. Besides, I’d rather have an interest-free loan than give them one. ![]()
Project management training – completing enough hours so that I qualify to ask for permission to take an exam – continues, slowly but surely. Yesterday I completed a 4.5-hour online course: twelve topics, with a quiz at the end of each one. That was kind of brutal. I plan to satisfy the remaining needed training hours with webinars: there are tons of free, 1-hour webinars on the Project Management Institute website that count toward the requirement. I admit that I’ll be kinda half-assing them: the volume will be very low, and I’ll be multitasking while they play (I’m “watching” one right now). I’ll only do two today…I should have started the webinars sooner and gotten one or two more hours in, but c’est la vie. After today, I’ll still have 10 hours to complete. I figure I’ll watch one each day this week (either during lunch or right after work), then watch the last five next weekend. I plan to submit my application by this time next Sunday. ![]()
LOL! Luckily, I’ve never encountered that question in an interview. It often pops up during performance reviews – but, happily, not with my current boss. ![]()
I hate that question too; way too open-ended. My usual response is, “Do you mean, like, ‘I was born in a log cabin’…?”
Pretty!
Awww…good friends of mine had a black cat named Boo; he died in November.
Don’t forget to give your headlamps a wipe every now and then… ![]()

I used to order from Dominos frequently: I never used coupons or specials, but I’d always get either a medium or large pizza plus dessert and often also some bread. My typical total – with tip – was about half of that!
I need to start watching that show again. I loved the first two seasons, but for some reason when S3 came out I couldn’t get into it. Now S4 is out, and I’m way behind! Starting S3 again might be a good plan for when I finally get off this computer…

Happiness is a sunny Sunday afternoon, watching a Girl Scout and her father walking up your driveway with a wagon to try and sell you Girl Scout cookies. I had my $20 in hand and was waiting by the door!
Happy Sunday, everyone. I have little to report. Walked to store. It looks like rain.
swampy, that was funny. Explain yourself, Deborah. ![]()
quietly, what kinds of GS cookies did you get? I like 'em all, but Somoas and Thin Mints are my favorites.
Sunny, beautiful kitties. I love black cats, but I have to admit, Panda is a heartt-stealer.
Taters, that WAS pricey pizza! For that much, they ought to include freebies…breadsticks, dessert, a Maserati.
Ha! Wish I’d thought of that one! One problem I have with it is that I always think it’s an attempt to get info they can’t legally ask, like whether you have kids. Another question I don’t like is “What would you say your greatest weakness is?” C’mon, you know everyone is going to say, “I guess it’s that I’m an overachiever. I just can’t slack off on company time!”

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated followed by an actual sit down N.O,L. at the good seafood place. OYKW wanted shrimpies. I didn’t want seafood or any kind of fish, so I had their fried chikin, green beans, squish, mac 'n cheese and cornbread. We were both stuffded, but it was so good! We got back to da cave and achieved nappage. Now we sloth and chill. I did haul the biiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow, so I can say I accomplished a task.
Glad folks enjoyed the Little Debbie’s ice creams review. Matt Mitchell is funny. I love his tagline, “sometimes funny… always hungry.” He does this thing called “Bless Your Rank,” where he, well, ranks various edible stuff. He did one durin’ the 2020 lockdown that was stuff from his pantry. Had me all ROFL! Here’s a link to Bless Your Rank for your entertainment.
sunny and doggio, the kittehs are a good looking bunch.
taters, I’ve never spent that much on good pizza!
silenus, I ordered GS cookies from several scouts, but chose the donate option (at my house, I don’t have sense enough to stop and I’m insulin dependent).
Ready to begin the bigger project now. Tonight will be doing some photo printing and then it’s off to the races. Italian wedding soup for supper was pretty good, although I made the meatballs a little too big.
2 packages of Lemonades and 2 boxes of Thin Mints. I just wish they packaged the Thin Mints in something other than the 2 single-serving tubes.
Well dang, KC lost.

I’ve been reading and generally being a slug. All in all, a very lazy day!
I put all of my stains, urethanes, tung oil, Danish oil, varnishes, etc for free on FB Marketplace this morning and was immediately swamped with queries. A woman came by this afternoon and took it all, along with all of my cans of spray paint. She runs a craft/art class at a homeless shelter. This is good in at least two ways: I don’t have to figure out how to dispose of toxic materials and pressurized cans, and we can also take this as a charitable donation. So the slog goes on to pare things down for the Big Move.
I paid rent, signed the new lease, and started taxes. Plus cleaning. I’d almost be mistaken for a functioning adult. ![]()
I went to Harris Teeter, and there were Girl Scouts, so I bought their last 2 boxes of Thin Mints. You’re right about the packaging.
Evening all. Clothes are all washed, dried and put in their proper locations (except for the blue jeans, I only dry them 75% and then let them finish while sprawled over my couch–heard somewhere that you shoudn’t completely dry jeans in a dryer because reasons. watched 1.5 tackleball games ( I find that easier, if not as much fun, as doggio’s handegg. Will probably return to the game here in a bit, hasn’t been half as interesting as the afternoon one.
Noon dinner was meatloaf at Logan’s and oh happy day, they have regular french fries back instead of those terrible (to me) waffle fries.
Haven’t seen a girl scout out and about yet, may still be too cold for them, but I’ll probably find something to buy from them.
Cookie, sounds like you done a good thing without really planning too. Hope they make good use of your stuff.
Taters, I’m not a pizza guy, but unless you had 3 extra-large ones with all the fixin’s, that sounds really high-priced. I’d double check the receipt if I was you.
Oopsie, Like you, I need one more 1099 to do my taxes. Waiting for one of my Annunities to send there’s, I tried getting into their on-line system but it was apparently engineered by someone who like puzzles, cause I can’t get it to do a simple thing. Will keep trying.
Nut, happy you were able to connect with boo fae; if I ever make it back to Jolly olde England, I’ll have to make time to meet you two.
OK, back to the tackleball game and I’ll see y’all on the next MMP.
yeah, im not a big fry guy but waffle fries might as well be ruffles tater chips to me …
Watched both football games. Foot er leg is much improved today. I may actually be seeing some light at the end of this nightmare. I will continue to nurse it and stay off it for a couple more weeks but hopefully by the time I move on Feb 24th I’ll actually be walking.
We got down to 46F which is the coldest I ever remember it being down here. I had the heat on so I wasn’t out in it. It’s supposed to be back to 70F tomorrow…
Catch everyone in the next MMP.
I shared the story, as posted here, of my Great-Great-Uncle Kirkpatrick on FB, and my uncle’s (middle-namesake) gave me a Thanks.
Yes, I can confirm that my Very Important Thing was tea and cake with Nut who is lovely and not at all a serial killer
The list of Mumpers What I have Met gets another name on it!
Yay!!
My feelings exactly.
Poe and Linden have/had 3 toys meant for human children, and the two that are not just a big human version of their cat tunnels involve water. The water filled pat pat mat didn’t survive their kittenhood despite nail caps. The last toy is a pair of robot fish that they both find fascinating, especially when the fish are plopped into a big transparent bowl from Dollar General. George might too.
