ID song (classical)

what is this song?

Damn, I know this . . . t’s from an opera. And it’s not a “song.”

I could be (probably am) completely wrong, but it sounds like Rossini to me.

Got it! It’s the Overture to Gilbert & Sullivan’s “The Gondoliers.”

Thank you

A song is music that is sung. That was not a song.

Fuck you

Not an appropriate response in Cafe Society. Don’t do this again.

I’m actually going to escalate from twickster’s admonition, and issue an Official Warning. The use of “fuck you” when directed at other posters is not permitted anywhere on our Message Boards, not even in the Pit.

pancakes, you’ve been around long enough to know better.

Also, please, don’t try to read tone into posts. Walloon and panache were both simply pointing out the definition of “song,” and there’s no reason to take those comments personally. We’re all here to learn.
