My hubby and I watched a movie (probably on Netflix). I’ll name everything we remember about it…a rich guy who wants to escape his life accidentally runs across a man who is his doppelgänger. He drugs the man or something. Anyway the guy ends up in the life of the first guy. Everyone in his family hates him because he is a real asshole, but by the end of the movie everything is better because he really is a good guy. Some other things…there is a glass factory and a little girl in the plot. At the end there is a big fight and it’s doubtful which of the lookalike men survives. We remember everything but the name.
Who was in it?
When (about) was it released?
What genre was it?
That’s it. I think we’ll watch this one again
Yes, The Scapegoat. If you saw it on Netflix, it’s probably the 2012 version. There’s a much better one done in 1959, starring Alec Guiness, and featuring Bette Davis. And yeah, that ambiguous ending drove me crazy.
Thanks for that. Nice little production. Took me back to the days of my youth watching movies on a Sunday afternoon on TV, laying on the floor eating toasted cheese sandwiches. Mind you they weren’t in color then.
Cheese had no color back then?
Right. It was black and white and shades of gray.
