The smell was pretty bad, somewhere between feet and ass. Maybe feet that had been up an ass.
Found in a friend’s yard today, in South East Florida.
It’s a species of stinkhorn. Possibly a species of Colus or Clathrus.
ETA: Looks like Clathrus crispus.
Actually, it looks more like Colus hirundinosus,but that doesn’t seem to be known from Florida (although it occurs in the Caribbean).
