ID this SF children's book

My sister is looking for a book from childhood she can’t remember, so I ask the Dopers:

Clones of famous people are kept in a park-like enclosure (it’s pretty much Parts: the Clonus Horror in book form, and better). Possibly a girl heroine, acting as an investigative reporter of the situation. A picture of the evil director guy facing down his clone. At the end, something gets worked out.

Don’t fail me now, guys!

Sorry to say I don’t have the answer, but you might check out this link. I’ve used it before on such quests for a title.

Total long shot, and it would rely on her misremembering a couple of details, but could it have been The Overman Culture by Edmund Cooper? It’s a quirky little thing but I loved it as a child.

It sounds like Welcome to the Ark by Tolan, but I haven’t read that book in almost a decade, so I could be wrong.

STrings, by David Duncan, maybe? It’s got most of the info you mention.

Another long shot: Clone Catcher by Alfred Slote?

Thanks everyone, I’ll run these by her. I lost the thread for a little bit there, sorry.
