When I was 6 or 7 or so (so 1989-ish), I remember being up late one summer night and watching TV with my parents. I don’t recall what movie or TV show was on, but there was this scene that was quite nightmare-fuelish for my young self that freaked me out.
I’m fairly sure the production was contemporary to the '80s - it had that “'80s look” to it. The scene was two boys who were playing around in the woods and had discovered some sort of old shack or lean-to, which they decided to crawl into. One of them thought it would make a pretty cool place for a hideout, while the other was saying it was dangerous and they shouldn’t be out there. He decides to bail and the other boy just sits there by himself a minute, then the entire thing collapses on top of him and kills him, and there’s an exterior shot of the boy’s “ghost” flying off into the sky. At that point I was rightly terrified and took off screaming to my room.
Does this vague remembrance ring a bell to anyone?
