Ident this movie from my childhood

I have this memory of a movie I saw as a child & I’d like to figure out what it was.

I remember an odd-shaped blimp (the horror!) that was pointed at both ends, spindle-shaped.

I remember a map with a whale-bone (?) shape that was place on top. A mark on the whale-bone indicated the secret destination.

I remember the riders on the blimp looking down into the cracks in the artic ice to see a pod of narwhal swimming below.

The movie was Disney-esque but, in my recollection, not actually Disney (sort of like Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang was).

OK - for a quick ten points - what is it?

Island at the Top of the World?

That’s it!

This site has some stills that feature the airship that I remember.

Counter to my memory, it is Disney (1974).

Thanks

Cool! I knew something I could share!

Your description triggered a really vague memory of the airship and the landscape with the ice. It’s funny how all the Disney movies of that era all had the same feel, just varying plots and adventures. I think it was the primative special effects they had in those days, but as a kid of course they all seemed like really great movies.

I doubt that I could actually sit through one today.
