Identify this anime snippet I'd like to see again?

I think I saw it a couple of years ago on The Cartoon Network. It was just a two-minute-or-so bit between programs. It was a couple of biplanes, one piloted by a woman and one by a man, and they were indulging in WWI-style dogfights. When explosions occured, they took the form of kind of psychedelic blossoming bouquets.

Sorry, that’s all I can dimly remember. Anybody know what I’m talking about?

FWIW : Cartoon Network (or CN as they go by now) used to have some very, very** WTF ** stuff on it.

Most of the best WTF moments came in a show called O Canada!

That show had animated shorts from Canada in it. Was yours Canadian?
