Identify this comic strip

I have vague recollections of a comic strip from the 80s and the main character was a dog that claimed he was a Tyrolean beachhound, I think.

Does anyone remember the name of this strip?

Nobody has a clue?

Is it “Miles To Go” you’re talking about? He was the dog I named my dog after. If I recall correctly he was sort of like a sheepdog.

Possibly, it sounds a little familiar. I remember the dog was kind of sheepdog-like, but I haven’t been able to find a single sample on line to look at.

Miles to Go is by a San Fransisco cartoonist named Phil Frank, who also did a strip called Travels with Farley. I’m having tough time locating sample art online for Miles To Go… Does this art style look familiar?

Did he have a long muzzle, and was he brown, with an underbelly of white fur?

I honestly don’t remember what they style or the dog looked like. The name “Miles to Go” sounds familiar, but only vaguelyl so. Heck, it’s been 20 years. I was hoping to find a sample online but haven’t had any luck.
