What is the instrument being played in this Youtube video in the first few measures after the acoustic guitar intro? (I promise I was watching this video for pure rubbernecking purposes :o) It has a sort of reedy harmonica or organ sound but I don’t think it’s either of those. For some reason I associate it with middle-of-the-road late-90s pop-rock because I believe Barenaked Ladies and Sarah MacLachlan have both used it.
The Wife says it is some kind of zydeco squeezebox, but will not give me any further details. I suppose we need to google…
