Identify this movie I never saw but maybe you did.

I saw the shorts once. There is a scene where 2 apparent crooks are in a car trying to get away from somewhere. The actors are ??? and ???. The guy behind the steering wheel begins a rave about the fact that his accomplice has stolen a manual car. He seems to politely explain that there is more modern technology that doesn’t require him to change gears, he is obviously furious…

And the movie was …?

That sounds like it might be Bandits. Were the guys Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton? I vaguely recall a similar run of dialogue in that film.

No I saw that (in fact I have one of the goofs on IMDB for it). It was an earlier movie, say 1999 or 2000.

There was a vaguely similar scene in Turner & Hooch, where cop Tom Hanks commandeers some random person’s car to pursue a criminal, and he berates the unwilling car donor for not having a car with “a little bit of muscle.”

Probably not what you’re looking for.

Maybe ‘Quick Change’ with Bill Murray & Randy Quaid?

or ‘The Hot Rock’ with Robert Redford & George Segal?

Definitely not Quick Change.

Nah, You’re right, Scarlett67 They tried to make a getaway by taxi, right?

The Hot Rock sounds more probable though, now I come to think of it. I know George Segal drove a car and Robert Redford was making sarcastic remarks about it. *::having ‘Afghanistan Bananastand’ in my head now:: *
