It’s the last handgun pictured on the lower right of THIS
page (tiny, with brown grips and possibly gold highlights on the trigger & mag release, double action trigger) It’s stamped * “Made in Czech Republic”*.
The site says “KEVIN” but I’ve never heard of and can’t find anything about firearms named Kevin.
I believe this is a Kevin ZP-98 in .380 ACP. It is made by ZW (not sure what that stands for) in the Czech Republic. It looks to be a straight blowback design similar to that made by Bryco/Jennings in the US, although there appear to be some ports or slots on top of the barrel. It couldn’t be imported into the US per GCA 68 restrictions (it won’t score enough points on the BATF assessment system described therein), but is used as a backup piece in former East Bloc countries.
Nope - the Czech Republic is usually either “CZ” or “CR,” for Česká Republiká. “CZ” on a pistol is often for Česká Zbrojovka, “Czech Armory.” A number of different Czech firearms makers have used “CZ” on their pistols, so many that they can’t trademark it. I think the “ZW” on Stranger on a Train’s page might be from translation from Czech to Russian; if you look at dropzone’s pic it appears to have a ZV followed by a 1 or an I withe the word “Vsetín” underneath. That’s got to be Zbrojovka Vsetín, a gun factory in the town of Vsetin in the Moravia part of the Czech Republic. Not sure if that’s who made yours, but there you go.
