Every evening right after supper this Purina One Puppy Chow commercial comes on, same one evening after evening, and the puppy is a beaut but I can’t figure out whiat he is. He seems to be silver-grey but the ad itself isn’t hightly colored. The tail might be clipped. Have you seen the ad? Do you know what kind of pup it is? Please do tell!

I haven’t seen the commercial, but from your description of the color I would guess Weimeraner.
Yup, it’s a Weimaraner (Vy-mah-rah-ner). They are usually gray with violet or amber eyes and are sometimes referred to as the Gray Ghost. Weimaraners are bold, stubborn and impetuous. They are sporting dogs, and are highly active both indoors and out.
When I was a kid, our neighbor had a Weimaraner which would whizz on anything upright and stationary, including kids waiting for the school bus. Nasty, and yet, thirty years later, I remember him.

I’ve never seen a Weimeraner puppy, this face seems sweeter than Weimeraner adults and I never got a good look at the tail. You’re probably right!
