I remember a friend of mine, who was a big fan of science fiction model-making, had a book dedicated to the work of Martin Bower, who made the models for the Gerry Anderson shows like Thunderbirds, and also worked with Derek Meddings who built miniatures for the James Bond movies.
This reminds me of that. Not directly, but in the sense that there may be a cheap book out there about “science fiction spaceships” that is completely unofficial and has no movie or TV images, just a selection of models that amateurs have made and were collected into a book.
Yeah, those are good possibilities. In fact, the fact that neither Google Image or Tineye can find it suggests a very obscure source. Someone’s portfolio sounds like a good bet.
