Identify this song plz (might be Irish lullaby, but perhaps not...)

There is a song I remember as a kid, that I have always labled in my brain as being a lullaby, in Irish. It may very well not be, in fact the more I think of the bit of the lyrics I remember, the less likely it is…

The bit of lyric I remember is (phonetically):

ver mey o, o rovano, ver mey o, o rovanee

Or something like that…
Googling around turned up in the end a couple of hits for “vermeo” as a song title, but it was on a CD with songs like “Mission not impossible” and “Mi Corazon - Smokers Mix”… sounds unlikely company for something that was sung to me as a baby a quater century ago?

Anyone want to give that a shot?

Just one bump for the evening crew.

I know it: it’s trad Hebridean, and called the Eriskay Love Lilt (aka When I’m Lonely, Dear White Heart). The first line is spelt “Vair me o, ro van o”. Here is one of many sites with lyrics and MIDI file.

WOW! SDMB… it’s amazing. Thank you raygirvan!
