There’s this car commercial with a frighteningly familiar song playing in the background, but I can’t figure out what it is. I don’t even remember the car, but the commercial has writing at the top of the screen that says stuff like “turn-on: long walks on the beach” and then that gets scratched out. Finally, it says “turn-ons: hugging curves” then it shows a car driving. What is the song in the background, if you know what I am talking about?
Also, who the hell are those two old guys in the “Macerana” video?
just saw the commercial again. . . . it’s for a Sentra, if that helps.
Hmmmm… I seem to remember one of those nissan cars, don’t remember whether it was the sentra or the altima, and they were playing a peice out of the middle of “won’t get fooled again” by the Who. I think. And then some idiots used Teenage Wasteland for an SUV… probably the pathfinder.
So that’s my guess – “Won’t get fooled again”
The two old guys in the Macarena video are the band. They are the onew who wrote and performed the song. No shit.
Dammit, I know what you’re talking about, but I seem to remember two or three different versions of this ad, each with a different song playing in the background. I think one of them was “Then The Morning Comes,” by Smashmouth. It starts out with a little alarm clock thing that says, “Good morning”. But I’m about 85% sure there’s another version with another song I rcognized when I heard it, but for the life of me, I can’t remember what that song is. If you can give me any lyrics, I’ll see if I can remember.
Ooh! Ooh! I think I know this one?
If it’s the song in which the prominent lyrics are a simple “Woo Hoo!” repeated:
The song is by a band called Blur and it is called *Song #2[/], I think.
I saw on VH-1 that those two guys are still making records and are still popular in Mexico. I think the VH-1 show was about one-hit-wonders.
Heeeeeeeyyyyyyy (clap) Macarana! (hop, turn-- shake the hips)
Is this the ad you’re talking about? If so, it’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” by The Who, as suggested already.
FWIW, adcritic.com is quite a handy site for this kind of research.
I’m positive the commercial refered to in the OP contains “Song 2” by Blur. The Who is from another commercial. I can’t believe some of the songs they’re using nowadays. Buzzcocks’ “What Do I Get” to sell the RAV4? Bitch, please.
Yes! That’s it! Thank you so much!
