Identify this TV Special!

It’s from the mid/late 70’s I believe, but my memory of it’s really vague, so I don’t know how much I can give you to go on. The main thing I remember is that it was a cartoon with a couple of kids that had been shrunk, and they were traveling through a human body. I also think there was an odd scientist-type (or wizard?) of person with them, teaching them about different things, and helping them along if they got into any trouble. I don’t think it was a series of anything, just a one time cartoon, maybe an After School Special, or something like that.

Anyway, my memory of it is somewhat reminiscent of other “edutainment” from the 70’s, like School House Rock, or that cartoon they did of The Phantom Tollbooth. I think there may have been some musical numbers in places, such as a musical describing the digestive system, for example. I can’t remember much more than the above; I vaguely seem to remember it was live action for the beginning and end, then cartoon for the part inside the body, but I’m not positive of that.

That’s about all I can remember. Vague memories of it have been popping into my head for the past 10 years or more, but I can’t seem to recall what the show was. Anyone else remember this?

I remember that! It came on in the afternoon and on Saturday mornings as well. The “host” was Timer (“Time out for Timer!”) although I don’t remember what kind of creature he was. He was also the host for some between-show segments about nutrition.

That’s it!! I’ve been trying to think of that for years! Thank you, now my mind can be at peace.

I looked around and found a couple of websites mentioning him:

The latter has a RealAudio link to one of his songs.

I wonder if any of this is on video tape now?
