Ok, so this is a little weird but…
I use an impulse heat sealer to seal plastic bags at work. I dropped it on the ground today and kinda tweaked it a little. Now when I push the arm down to activate the heating element, the unit makes a little sproiiiing sound. When I did it the first time, my friend and co-worker got a weird look on his face, staring off into nowhere. The sound had unlocked some back-ass room in his brain and the first thing he said was, “That’s from the Pink Panther!” But he couldn’t make the connection to what the sound was for. He thinks maybe it’s from the section of the cartoon about the anteater, but can’t be sure. The more he talks about it, the more I tend to agree with him, but my memory of the sound from the cartoon is much more vague: just some very distant inkling, like a familiar taste or smell from waaaaaay back.
Anyone remember the show fairly well who might be able to shed more light on today’s mystery? It sounds like a combination between a spring “sproinging” and a buzzer buzzing…
