Idiotic sports radio poll: Packer Superbowl win or Brett Favre for 2-3 more years?

OK, I know the Packers are not in it anymore, but I didn’t get around to posting this 'til now. Is the above not the most asinine poll you’ve ever heard of? I am not a Packer fan, but I randomly heard this on a sports radio show the other night and I actually called in because I thought the question was so stupid. Here was the question they asked, which they called a “Deal with the Devil.” The question was more specifically directed to Packers fans, but anyone could answer:

Would you rather have a Superbowl win this year

OR

(not win the Superbowl this year, and be assured that you will have)
Brett Favre for two or three more years?

Why would anyone in their right mind pick #2? I mean, I know they love Brett Favre, but come ON. The point, the goal, the dream, the everything, of NFL football is to win the Superbowl. That’s it. The Superbowl. So why on God’s green earth would anyone pick #2? What would be the point of having him for two or three years? So you could watch him play, OK, but mostly, and primarily, so that he, and you, could win a Superbowl. But oh, wait, you can already have that. Right now, without having to leave it up to chance. By picking #1. Is that not ridiculous??

Oh, went I went on the show I said their Deal with the Devil was no deal – everyone would pick #1 – and then I said a REAL deal would be something like this:

Superbowl win this year, and you can’t make the playoffs for seven years;

OR

Brett Favre for 2-3 more years.

Doesn’t their deal suck? Isn’t my deal better? What would you pick in my deal?

Anything is better than having to listen to the daily off-season news updates on Brett Favre’s mood in Mississippi and whether or not it means he’s coming back for another season.

We want him back only FOR another Super Bowl victory, so the poll makes no sense.

Seconded.

But really, all that is secondary to the most important thing:

Isn’t Brett having FUN out there?
