Right, so I was downloading a program and at the “Save file to disk” or “Run from current Location” option, i accidentally click on the “Do not ask me this again” box and had it on run from current location. Now I can’t get back to change it, and of course the Help file is of no use whatsoever. Anyone know how to remedy this?
Go to Tools --> Internet Options --> Security --> Custom Level --> Reset to Medium (or whatever security level you have it at)…then all your stuff will get reset, and you will see those security message boxes again.
Also, you can usually right-click on a link and click on “Save Target As…” to save it to disk.
The first advice didn’t work, and I know about the “save target as.” The problem is when I am somewhere like cnet, and to download it redirects you (even if you click on the manual download), in which case I cannot do the save target as.
::sigh::
