IE6.0 99% of CPU?

What is it about this website that causes my IE to go into a CPU-bound infinite loop?

Make sure you have it configured for listings in your area. Load the webpage and let it stay loaded in an IE window for a few minutes. Bring up the Task Manager (CTL-ALT-DEL), and watch the CPU usage for IE. On my system the CPU usage just keeps going up and up and up until it gets to 99%. I haven’t seen this behavior with any other website. What the heck is going on here???

Running XP Pro on a laptop.

HA!!! Kind of a funny side effect of this is that it makes my CPU fan run more often.

TV Guide must’ve screwed up their code somehow, someway, recently. I just noticed this too (and I’m running Firebird, not IE). And it’s recent - I’m one of those people who will keep multiple windows/tabs open in a browser, so I’m used to going to, say, TV Guide listings, and basically leaving it open all nite. But a few days ago, my processor kept slowing WAY THE HELL DOWN, and it wasn’t until a couple days ago that I correlated it with TV Guide.

Hope they fix it soon; but I haven’t gone back since I noticed it.

I know they use a lot of Flash mouse-overs, so maybe there’s a bug in that mess? I noticed their Flashes weren’t working as good as they usually do. Hmm, hard to say. So now I just poke the site, check out the listings, and then close it. Funny how it made my CPU fan run more often though, that really had me scratching my head for a couple days.
