“Bill, what are they drinking in that Oval Office anyway? I’ll bet it’s Ovaltine!”
“That’s gold, Dennis! Gold!”

Satire, no—but damn if they haven’t perfected the pratfall. A “family values” warrior caught on tape exalting his multiple mistresses is some funny shit.
Al Gore doesn’t try to be funny. Dennis Miller does.
Dennis Miller is not, in heart, a Republican. He just turned into a pussy after 9/11.
Sometimes I wonder if Miller is kind of faking it and feels locked into the conservative thing now because it’s the only fan base he’s got left.
Nah, Dennis Miller knows where his paycheck comes from, I really don’t think it’s much more than that. Just remember, a large part of his stand-up routine a decade ago was making fun of fundamentalist Christians and otherwise right-wing whackos. In fact, I seem to remember his routine having a liberal bent.
Nix -just a test because I was blocked earlier
I really think that like Joe Lieberman, 9/11 turned Dennis Miller into a nutcase.
Dennis Miller fell off my radar years ago; I had no idea he had become a Fox News talking head.
That’s just sad.
Bear in mind, though, that Steward will never go after Miller or any other stand-up comic.
The only thing that’s unfunnier than Dennis Miller is a freaking 3 page post complaining about one of his offhand one liners.
Here’s an idea! Why don’t you go write a 20 page dissertation why David Letterman’s #7 on his Top 10 list last night wasn’t funny.
How do you write a 3 page post? Reply to your self 150 times?
So is old age and the realization of ones’ own mortality. I don’t doubt that Miller has a deep seated fear of death and as he ages still needs to work and if he can make himself happy talking with other like minded sheep, so much the better. He’s comfortable, he’s paid and has enough of a name that the fundies actually want him around. It’s really a win-win for Miller, who I stopped watching only because he stopped being truly funny after he left SNL.
Remember when Miller was a football commentator? Seems like he can’t hold any job post-SNL.
That was prior to 9/11. He used to be more liberal/libertarian-esque.
