If apple varieties were pop bands, this is what they'd play.

Arkansas Black: outlaw country
Northern Spy: art rock
Cortland: New York blues
Criterion: West Coast jazz
Macoun: doo-wop
Braeburn: garage rock
Jonagold: new jack swing
Fuji: shoegaze
Mutsu: ambient
Rome Beauty: hard bop
Newtown Pippin: boy band dance pop
Red Delicious: girl group
Granny Smith: lo-fi
Gravenstein: grindcore
Winesap: power pop

Go ahead. Tell me why I’m wrong. But know this: when I form a power pop band, we’re calling ourselves Winesap.

(Note: Pink Lady, Golden Delicious and Cameo have been done. Thanks to [url=“http://www.allmusic.com/”]All Music Guide[/a] for research assistance.)

What about Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter?

What the hell are you talking about?

Gwyneth Paltrow named her new baby “Apple”.

In case you’re talking about the OP, well, I was thinking the other day that Winesap would be a cool band name. Then I started wondering what kind of music Winesap would play, and then I started thinking about all those other varieties of apple that are waiting to become band names and play music and what kind of music they’d play.

Kind of random, I admit.
