If Bambi is male...

come to think of it, ya i have not.

Obviously. This is threadshitting, so please don’t do it again.

I haven’t metLawrencia “Bambi” Bembenek. Sad story though.

Not to get political in a thread about a cartoon deer, but sometimes it feels like the second anything gets tainted with femininity (a name, a style, a sport) it’s forever consigned to that “side.” You see that a lot with male names given to girls (pretty sure I even read a thread about it here).

“Bunny” used to be a male nickname. And “Beverly” and “Gale” used to be more common as male than as female names.

That’s pretty much how it works. It’s well documented and there are many names that could be added to CalMeacham’s list.

There’s an Air Force EOD tech (and a rather good-looking one, at that) who goes by Bambi. I’m pretty sure that’s her given name, but not entirely.

Boys tend to get Biblical names, most of which are Hebrew in origin–John, James, Peter, Thomas, Simon, etc. Today, a non-Jewish boy might be named Levi, although Ari still seems pretty Hebrew.

I know a guy that goes by “Bunny” not his real name but he was born on easter.

Some mothers are wonderful and evil at the same time lol.

Well, are you going to let us win?

“Amari” is climbing in popularity as a name for black boys (overall it’s now much more popular than “Ari”).

There was a professor named Bambi Hu where I went to college. I never had a class with him, but others told me that he was a man.

I don’t know if it was his real name, but it appears in official sources.

No, of course not, the posh kids win, they always do.
