If I have [ ] on my "walking home" playlist, I should consider adding [ ]

I’ve been walking home from work the last couple months. It’s about 1.6 miles and takes me roughly 40-50 minutes, so I’ve set up a playlist of fairly up-tempo music, for the most part, to keep me groovin’ while I’m walkin’. I don’t really like repetition though, so what do you think I should add, based on my current tastes?

Suggestions?

Bumping once for suggestions. My musical knowledge pretty much stops at the early 21st century, and I’ve been feeling old. Is there any rockin’ new music out there?

I don’t have any specific suggestions for you but have you tried Pandora?

“Bright Future in Sales” - Fountains of Wayne
“Steady As She Goes” - Raconteurs
“Johnny Feelgood” - Liz Phair
Maybe some Indigo Girls that was recorded this decade? – How about “Become You”

Well, I’ll avoid adding any more Seatbelts music suggestions, since I’m assuming you have more than just the two Cowboy Bebop songs in your repetoire. If you don’t, then I suggest checking out more of them. The Egg and I is nice and peppy, and always makes me think of Oy bouncing around. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bolding this next part because it is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to find/get new music ever.

One GREAT way to get new music, one song at a time <which I prefer as I don’t listen to albums as a whole, generally> is to use Youtube to check out new stuff, and then use zamzar to have it parse the Youtube link, convert it to mp3, and send it to your email. Download and blam; new music! <just google zamzar for the link; the link is just a .com after it but I don’t know the rules for posting direct links here> **

One of my favorite walking/activity songs, which you might like 'cause I see Prodigy on there, is from the Hacker’s soundtrack. It’s called Cowgirl. Youtube ‘hackers sound track cowgirl’ and it’ll be right there; browse from there and enjoy!

I haven’t, to be honest. I’ve heard of it but never gone there. What’s it all about?

Thanks, I’ll check some of that stuff out asap.

I actually don’t have most of their stuff, just a few Bebop tracks I snagged. I’ll check some more of 'em out.

Also, never heard of zamzar but I’ll check it out.
I’ll check out Cowgirl too.

I’ve never listened to a lot of the stuff you have there, and some of what I’ve heard isn’t my cup of tea, so I can only give recommendations based on part of the list and the post-early-21st century instruction, but:

The White Stripes are really good, and there’s a lot there that covers kind of a lot of ground; Black Math, Icky Thump, Fell in Love With a Girl, and The Hardest Button to Button are all a good loud walking-tempo or better. Jack White’s also part of the Raconteurs. And the Dead Weather, for that matter, so maybe check out Treat Me Like Your Mother.

Ever tried the Yeah Yeah Yeahs? The Strokes? M.I.A. ? Modest Mouse?

Oh, and as long as you’ve got Andre 3000, might as well have Hey Ya, especially if you missed it the first time around.
