Pence will be sunk either way in trump fans’ eyes. If he follows the normal and legal process they will be outraged. If he hides out they’ll be angry that he didn’t show up to defend the Cheeto. FWIW, a relevant op-ed today - the writer of this article seems to never realize that a Vice President Kamala Harris could do the exact same thing in the 2024 election by this same logic:

But since he expects Pence to “do his Duty to Amerika!” as described and ensure Trump is elected, there won’t be a 2024 election to contend with. Or at least there won’t be a D party participating in that election. They’ll all be in jail or exiled by then.

I think Pence is going to do the normal stuff with no drama. I expect him to be on the podium for Bidens ceremony but I don’t think there’s any chance that Trump will be there. Which creates a bit of conflict in me because I’m not sure i see Pence going without Trump, so I don’t know what I think. Yes, you just wasted precious seconds of your life reading that.

The really amusing thing about all this is that I’m hearing pretty much the same thing from Democrats thinking the Republicans are trying to steal the election as I am from Republicans thinking the Democrats are trying to steal it.

Well, the GOP- at least a few members of- are trying to steal the election. The AG of Texas literally asked SCOTUS to overturn the will of the voters.
