In my dog is sick by Jawofech, Silent Bob made a post that literally brought me to tears. Rarely have have I heard more lovely or eloquent words than in this link.
(I hope it works)
Same for me- I bawled right there at work. I had to go to the ladies room and wash my face and get it together. I was OK until he started with the “(You do know the Jakey Jakey Pooh Pooh Pants song don’t you?)” That did it for me. Instant tears. I came home today and just loved my animals. (even more then usual)
Thanks, Silent Bob. Your words speak volumes about your character.
I’m pretty new here and do more lurking than posting. I came across that thread at work, and I too shed more than one tear. I was so frustrated that I couldn’t post sooner to let him know what affect his words had (can read, but can’t post from work, some proxy server thing). Bob, I don’t know you, but the phrase “quiet dignity” takes on new meaning after reading your post.
I’ve been avoiding looking at that thread… I’ve about had my fill of animal pain lately. I went ahead and read it from this link and I will admit that Bob’s post just made a grown man cry. Your a good soul Bob.
Jawofech, If your reading this my heart goes out to you. Thank you for saving that dog and giving it a life when no one else would.
Well, yeah, when he was talking about his gramma. And it got me talking with my wife about Almost Final Arrangements.
Actually, Rasa and other newbies who aren’t familiar with SILENT-BOB and who might not have gathered this already, but he has always been silent until recently, communicating beautifully only in smilies. Like many of his friends here, I’m glad he’s chosen to start “talking,” even when he tears my heart out. “Quiet dignity” is a lovely way to describe his manner. It is how he has always conducted himself, even when people thought he was a troll. I look forward to meeting him at the (quick plug) ChiDopeFest on October 21st.
(moments later)
Just went to that Rainbow Bridge site, but had to close it. It’s hard to cry, read, and type at the same time, especially when a collie snout is lifting your elbow to cheer you up.
