If Someone With Medical Issues Says "Don't Cook for Me" Don't Cook For Them!

I take you brought her something to eat?

I just read your OP. If someone tells me they don’t want me to cook for them then I’m not going to cook for them. When it comes to allergies, I’d actually appreciate someone like you who refrained from eating what I made instead of playing 20 questions about ingredients and me being unsure if I included your particular allergen.

One small proof that there is justice in the world.

@Broomstick, just curious, in the intervening 5 years, did she continue to try to force food on you? Did she ever get the message and limit her cooking to creating conflagrations for her enjoyment alone?

That is enough for a pitting. They always make it awkward and the repayment is never worth it. Oh, thank you, I always wanted a teapot cozy and now just need a teapot.

Pitworthy in of itself

Absolutely. You’re not being a fussy eater, you’re trying to survive.

Yes, at a certain point she did stop foisting food on me.

Honestly, that was less bother than setting her apartment on fire but both were really obnoxious.

Listen, after she stopped cooking for you, she needed some kind of hobby. It was probably down to knitting or arson.

While on a certain level I am appreciating the levity here I’m just going to point out that the two fires were very, very real and if I hadn’t noticed them as soon as I did the whole building could have gone up, leaving about 50 people homeless with everything they own destroyed, and even a bunch of maimed and dead people. Just so everyone understands that this actually wasn’t amusing to me at the time, it was fucking scary.

Sorry to make light of it. That must have been harrowing, and I’m sorry you had to go through it.

THAT was brilliant. Even if Beck was offended, she’d have to chuckle at that line.
