Do you not receive an email update to your subscription? I use my list sparingly, but wonder upon occasion if this is indeed the case whenever I’ve subscribed to a thread and don’t believe I’ve been notified, but the final post is by such a member.
Can anyone help me out?
[And to avoid any problems since we’re in ATMB; yes, I do realize that some are of the opinion that one is weak minded (or something similar) if you utilize this feature and I have absolutely no problem with you feeling that way about me and my choice to do so. If you’re subscribed to a thread, aren’t you notified whenever there’s a new post? If so, why do you care if there was a new post by someone you’re ignoring?
Yes, typically I am notified. What brought this to my attention was a thread that ended up in the “New Posts” category, but I hadn’t gotten an email. Then I realized who the last person was that replied, someone on my ignore list, and it made me wonder. Nothing more. And since I don’t have a lot of folks on there and I’d never noticed it before, I thought I’d ask if this was the case. You have any ideas?
I shouldn’t think that’s it. I’ve had quite a few threads not appear updated for me, and I think I only have one person on ignore. When I checked, the updated threads didn’t have any ‘this message is hidden’ alerts when I looked at them, so I’m fairly sure it wasn’t an /ignore function issue.
Hmmmm…I have a truly awe-inspiring number of people on Ignore, and I’ve never noticed the e-mail alert to discriminate. Then again it does seem a little hit-and-miss in terms of getting past e-mail filters.
Maybe it is just a wonky notification system. < peers to the side and ponders > But since I was more curious than anything else, I suppose it ain’t no big thing. Thanks for everyone’s help.
