When did people on your ignore list stop having the "This person is on your ignore list" notification displayed?

I was idly perusing an old Thread Games thread (an idle pastime if I am in the mood for some surreal insanity), when I noticed I had addressed a certain Doper over some minor issue. At some later date, them having reached my exasperation threshold a few months ago, I had put them on ignore. Thing is, I couldn’t find the notification in quotes in my title that would indicate where their posts were, so I could still click on them and read them if desired.

Is this a recent change? A hardcoded Discourse thang, again? Or amenable to being changed here (by our mythical admin)?

My ignored people still show the placeholder post.

In my case it just shows:

VIEW 1 HIDDEN REPLY

Right where a post from an ignored person would be. That’s what it has said as far back as I remember. It’s different if the ignored person is the OP of a thread, though. In that case, it will show the person’s name and headers as usual, but replace the content of the OP with:

Ignored content

On the other hand, notifications are different. If someone replies to you or quotes you and are on your ignore list, you get nothing. No notification at all. I assume if they try to send you a PM, you’ll also get nothing.

I don’t know what would happen if someone had previously messaged you and you later put them on ignore. I’ve never done that with a poster I’ve interacted with in messages.

I think I figured out what is going on.

In ACTIVE non-closed threads, I still see the tag.

But the thread where I didn’t see it anymore was an old closed game thread which had hit the 10K post limit, and it is there that the person in question no longer had even the tag showing up. I just took them off my ignore list, and they were all visible again. Put them back on, and the tag doesn’t come up in the closed thread, but it does in an active one.

That seems like a weird flaw in the system.
